Laughter Affects Brain Similarly to Meditation

According to a study conducted by Lee Berk, a professor of pathology and human anatomy at Loma Linda University, laughter can trigger similar brain waves to meditation. [1] [2] Thirty-one individuals had their brains scanned as they watched spiritual, distressing and humorous videos. The participants’ levels of gamma waves, which are same brain waves produced during meditation, increased upon watching the humorous video clips. More information about this study can be found at:
